Premium British trolley manufacturer Stewart Golf has reported another record year, posting a 13% increase for 2015 over the previous year.
Sales of the company’s X Series range increased by 23%, with the flagship £1499 X9 Follow outselling the £999 X9 Remote by 5:1. CEO Mark Stewart said, “Our clients place a real value on the level of innovation that our machines bring to the market, this is shown clearly by the heavy bias towards the X9 Follow despite the premium price point”.
Overall sales of the British-made R1 Push increased by more than 30%, mostly due to the increased emphasis on domestic trade sales where the number of push trolleys sold more than doubled. There are now more than 250 R1 Push stockists in Great Britain & Ireland, with this number planned to grow significantly during 2016.
COO Robert Hardie remarked, “We have assembled excellent sales team who plan to significantly grow our network of quality stockists in GB & Ireland. The team have already increased trade sales by 21% year-on-year, and we are optimistic for 2016”.
Exports increased by 16%, now accounting for 37% of total sales. This increase was driven by existing European & North American markets, plus new distributors were signed in South Korea and Japan to bring the total number of customer countries to 41 in 2015.
Mark Stewart continued, “To post double digit growth again is great testament to Stewart Golf’s continued commitment to designing & producing innovative products. We are also extremely proud that we hand build every one of our machines here in Gloucestershire & sell successfully at home and abroad, proving that British engineering can compete on the world stage.”
