BOSTON – June 1, 2007 – Stewart Golf USA, the North America division of Stewart Golf Limited, a UK-based company, has been formed to market and distribute remote-controlled golf caddies of exceptional design and quality in North America.
“When other remote caddies are being discounted and becoming cheaper, Stewart Golf USA enters the market at the high-end of our competitors,” says Chip Anderson, president. “We know from personal and professional experience that the best way to walk the course for exercise is to play beside a highly reliable, durable and maneuverable remote caddie.” Anderson notes that the sleek design and quality components of Stewart Golf products appeal to “discerning golfers who want class in their game. Our remote caddies turn a lot of heads.”
Stewart Golf USA’s X3R remote caddie sells for $1,995.
“Stewart Golf USA possesses both the best-in-class product and the marketing muscle to position the X3R as the clear brand leader in the United States,” Anderson notes. While remote caddies are more popular abroad than in America today, Stewart Golf will benefit from US demographics and other factors – explosive growth in golfing seniors; attendant focus on lifestyle, health and fitness products; and heightened interest by consumers seeking stylish high-end products, according to Anderson. "Design, styling and performance are more important to our customers than price alone. They can always find a cheaper solution."
The X3R is getting recognition among the elite. GQ Magazine's British Edition, in its December 2005 issue, ranked the X3R 35th on its annual list of "The 100 best things in the world." The X3R ranked ahead of such products as the Odyssey 2-ball putter (39th) and the Range Rover Sport (72nd). The magazine wrote:
"For the golfer who has everything, the Special Edition X3R is a remotely controlled caddie that looks after your clubs so that you can concentrate on swearing when you miss that straightforward three-foot putt."
Features and Function
The X3R includes features designed for optimal convenience including handy storage for balls, tees, sunglasses, towels; a one-piece scorecard and pencil holder; and a gimbal-mounted drink holder that adjusts to accommodate cans and short and long bottles.
A fully remote-controlled caddie with solid-state electronics, the X3R provides high reliability, cruise control, and a range exceeding 50 yards. Its compact handset allows golfers to move the X3R forward, backward, faster, slower, left and right. The 'off' button cuts the power to the X3R's powerful twin motors and slows the caddie to a gradual stop. The emergency brake brings the X3R to an immediate stop. According to Anderson, no other powered caddie offers such freedom and flexibility.
Reliable microprocessor-driven electronics has 65,000 unique codes for each remote control, ensuring that no other handset will control your X3R. An integrated anti-tip wheel allows the remote caddie to negotiate hills with ease. High-grip tires reduce wheel spin and protect the course.
The high-performance, 12-volt 30 Ah battery supplies all the power and durability to play 18 to 27 holes before recharging. In the unlikely event the battery runs out of power, five-spoke rear wheels release quickly to engage the X3R in “free-wheel mode,” enabling it to be used as a pull cart.
Customizable Caddie
In Stewart Golf USA's product line, the X3R is complemented by the X3R SE (Special Edition). Stewart Golf can adorn a remote caddie in special colors and with imprints, logos and crests such as those of a golf club, sports car or anything within a customer’s imagination. Wheels can also be customized. "Some customers just want something a little more special and exclusive," says Anderson. “From a marketing viewpoint, it's just another thing that differentiates us. From a sales perspective, it makes the X3R SE a great incentive item, holiday gift, or something out of the ordinary that's guaranteed to garner loads of attention."
Both the X3R SE and X3R share mechanical components. At 26 pounds, the unit folds easily to fit into virtually any car trunk.
Stewart Golf is the only company in the powered-caddie industry to offer a three-year warranty (One year on the battery). "This is the best warranty for the best built product in the industry," says Anderson.
